Leadership
Robert J. Munn, President & CEO
In 1992, Chairman and CEO Robert J. Munn founded MasterWorks with the vision to
establish the company as the premier part's supplier for all computer products,
from laptops to sophisticated mainframes.
Shortly after graduating in 1976 with a marketing degree from New York’s highly regarded Saint John’s University, Robert worked as a sales executive for Texas Instruments, a Fortune 500 and world leader in consumer and commercial technology solutions.
When Texas Instrument’s former senior managers founded Compaq Computer Corporation (who would later merge with Hewlett-Packard), Robert followed suit and joined on as a sales executive in 1986.
Within a year after leaving Compaq, he established MasterWorks. Operating out of his home and building on past relationships, he began selling Compaq’s excess inventory, turning residual products into working capital.
Today, MasterWorks is a leading supplier of Hewlett-Packard and other first-tier OEM products and services to customers worldwide, and is an authorized HP Remarketing Partner, Distributor and Parts Reseller.

Bruce J. Cutler, Chief Operating Officer
As
the COO of Masterworks International, one of the largest
HP-Authorized Remarketing Distributors of refurbished systems and
parts in the U.S, Bruce oversees the entire supply chain including
purchasing, operations, order fulfillment, human resources and
information technology. Since joining the company last year, he has
already re-designed the facility layout and material flow to increase
capacity over 100%; implemented a quality
improvement program; revamped the configure-to-order process; and
instituted a unique sales and operations planning process
specifically tailored for this reverse logistics business.
His expansive industry knowledge and accomplishments include serving as the Director of home delivery logistics for Restoration Hardware, a nationwide home furnishings retailer, where he managed their third-party and in-house delivery network throughout the U.S. and Canada, worked extensively on inventory control, contract negotiation, vendor compliance and performance management, and effectively managed a remote team.
Prior to that he was general manager with full P&L and operations responsibility for Advanced Logistics Services, a private third party provider of logistics support to Schlumberger—the world’s largest oilfield services corporation. This experience gave him the unique perspective of managing a third party provider and the client or “shipper” side of the logistics world.
During his tenure as the Vice President of Logistics for Star Furniture, a Top 100 furniture dealer and Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, he was most recognized for leading a joint RFQ with three other Berkshire-owned retailers for ocean import services, saving the corporation $1 million in annual freight costs.
Bruce also dedicated 16 years to Compaq Computer Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, serving in a variety of positions. Early on he led the logistics team’s direct-to-consumer fulfillment channel before becoming the Director of International Marketing, and finally the Director of Logistics for their outsourced products, gaining extensive supplier relationship and international logistics knowledge.
His professional career began in an engineering capacity as Associate Engineer at IBM, and he went on to manage Technical Services at ComputerLand, an authorized Compaq distributor, which led to his recruitment by Compaq. His career has come full-circle with a return to an HP-authorized distributor, with HP having acquired Compaq in 2006.
Bruce earned his MBA in Marketing from Columbia University and an engineering degree from Georgia Tech. His many speaking engagements include the CSCMP national conference and Houston roundtables, Institute of International Research seminars, and the International Furniture Logistics Conference. He has also published articles in CSCMP Comments and was profiled in Inbound Logistics magazine in May 2004 and December 2009.
